About Us

Gemma and Adrian Preater are both originally actors and met working for the same theatre company, Oddsocks Productions, who are still going strong some 20 years later. While Gemma has since diversified into firstly teaching, then running arts and community venues and finally working as Business Support Manager for The Hive Change Consultancy , Adrian has developed from being a 'jobbing actor' into running his own theatre company 'Hotbuckle Productions' which, amongst other things, tours the UK and Ireland in the Spring and Autumn of each year and has been now running successfully for 20 years. As well as touring the country with classic novel adaptations, Hotbuckle also support the Christmas events at Ironbridge Gorge Museums and visit schools and community venues with their children's productions.

Adrian and Gemma Preater

A note form Gemma and Adrian: Both of us grew up in the south of England and settled in Surrey to bring up our 2 children, Jacob and Tilly. However, we always felt a yearning for the countryside and for a more rural life where we could spread out and enjoy the outdoors. So we finally upped sticks in 2013 and found this beautiful plot and farm house that offered so much potential. We have worked hard over the last few years to make this a wonderful forever home for us, our Ukrainian refugee family, Gemma's Mum and our grown up children as well as our 2 goats, 3 chickens, 1 cat and 2 dogs who keep us very busy!

In the winter our fields are given over to sheep for grazing. This means we wake up to the gentle 'baahing' of sheep and yet still get to enjoy the use of the fields. In the summer we make hay (while the sun shines)!

We really hope you fall in love with the place, as we have done and we promise to do all we can to make your stay happy and memorable.

We are happy to chat before you commit to booking, as we understand how important that decision is.
