Location

Mill House Farm

Mill House Farm is situated n the glorious Shropshire countryside. Close to the picturesque village of Pontesbury which nestles right on the edge of the Shropshire Hills, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The stunning medieval town of Shrewsbury is only 4 miles away, where you will find shops and cafes galore. You are also close to Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Ironbridge and many more beautiful towns and villages.

Shopping:

The nearest small shop is in Hanwood (the little village you drove through to get here). It is a Costcutter and is fine for basics – but that’s all.

In Pontesbury (turn right out of our drive and follow the road for about 3 miles) There are a few nice/useful shops: Hignets is a lovely local produce shop on the left as you drive in just before the church, Hignet’s is a bakers, butchers and grocery shop. Further into Pontesbury round the one way bit after the church there is a Co-op and a post office on the right and a chemist further down on the left. The closest big supermarket is Sainsbury’s at Meole Brace. (Back through Hanwood to the roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout onto the A5 and then left at the next roundabout. Take the next right and then left into the shopping complex. There is also a Boots, Sports Direct, Next and Next Home, Pound shop, TK Maxx, Halfords, Macdonalds and Toys R Us here.

You can also get into Shrewsbury via this turn off. This is also the cheapest closest Petrol.

These are really close by and very interesting – fun for kids to explore, too. Little car park on the right then walk up the hill. Very easy. There is also a pub further up the road: The Stiperstones Inn.

In Pontesbury Earl’s Hill nature reserve. Turn left before you come in to Pontesbury and up to the little car park on the left up the hill and past the fishery. From here you can take several walks. I highly recommend going up to the top of the hill. Fabulous views
